Emergency Response

Swift Action, Saving Lives

Disasters, whether natural or human-made, strike without warning. GRACE’s Emergency Response initiative is dedicated to providing immediate relief during floods, fires, pandemics, and other crises. We focus on delivering life-saving resources, coordinating recovery efforts, and equipping communities to better withstand future emergencies.

Ghana is highly vulnerable to natural and artificial disasters, including floods, droughts, fires, and industrial accidents. Inadequate preparedness, limited emergency resources, and slow response times exacerbate the impacts, leading to loss of lives and economic damage.

Why GRACE Seeks to Intervene

Over the past five years, floods have displaced 100,000+ people annually, with damages costing the nation $30 million each year.

In 2022, fire outbreaks caused 210 fatalities and property losses worth over $2 million.

Between 2018 and 2022, Ghana recorded 65 industrial accidents, many of which stemmed from poor regulatory compliance and a lack of emergency preparedness.
