Public Health Education
"Empowering Communities Through Knowledge"
Informed communities are healthier communities. GRACE’s Public Health Education initiative focuses on addressing pressing health challenges through awareness campaigns on disease prevention, mental health, road safety, and nutrition. By working with health experts and media platforms, we equip individuals with the knowledge to make informed decisions for their well-being.
Ghana faces significant public health challenges, including limited access to preventive healthcare, high rates of communicable and non-communicable diseases, and inadequate awareness about health risks and behaviors. The lack of widespread health education exacerbates these issues, leaving many communities vulnerable to preventable diseases.
Why GRACE needs to provide Public Health Education
Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as hypertension and diabetes are rising, accounting for 43% of deaths in Ghana in 2021.
Malaria remains endemic, with 5.3 million cases reported in 2022 alone.

Ghana's maternal mortality rate stands at 310 deaths per 100,000 live births, far above the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) target of 70.
Only 42% of children under five receive the recommended vaccines, leaving many at risk of preventable diseases.
Approximately 13% of Ghanaians experience mental health conditions, yet only 2% of the national health budget is allocated to mental health services.
